What is Marinade
Live since August 2021, Marinade is a stake automation platform that monitors all Solana validators and delegates to 100+ of the best-performing ones while supporting Solana performance and decentralization. Stakers with Marinade can choose between staking natively or liquid stake SOL for mSOL, a liquid staking token. Either option stakes your SOL with the same set of high-performance validators.Liquid staking provides the staker mSOL ("marinated SOL"). These tokens can be used as collateral throughout Solana DeFi. When using Marinade Native, there is no interaction with the liquid staking smart contract and you do not receive mSOL. With Native, your SOL staking rewards are compounded into your stake account each epoch.
You can also directly exchange between mSOL and SOL and other SPL tokens on secondary markets at the current market rate. Marinade is a DAO with a fair launch token, MNDE. Originally minted in October, 2021, the MNDE token can be used to govern the DAO treasury, vote on proposals and direct stake to validators. During certain periods, Marinade incentives stakers with additional MNDE rewards.
How to be eligible for a Potential Marinade Airdrop
Marinade had an initial MNDE airdrop and liquidity mining period in 2021. More recently, Marinade periodically offers additional incentives to Marinade Native and mSOL stakers as well as those who use mSOL in Solana DeFi.See More
